1. Lemongrass oil

Lemongrass oil, also known as citronella oil, is an essential oil extracted from the lemongrass plant (Cymbopogon nardus or Cymbopogon winterianus) and has a distinctive strong aroma. This oil is rich in active compounds such as citronellal and geraniol, giving it various benefits and uses, including as a raw material for the perfume industry, aromatherapy, a base ingredient for botanical pesticides, and natural health products that help relieve itching, muscle pain, and possess antimicrobial and antifungal properties.

  • Mosquito Repellent
    The active compounds help prevent mosquito and other insect bites. 

     
  • Skin Care
    Can help relieve itching from insect bites, as well as soothe muscle aches and pain when used as a massage oil. 

     
  • Antimicrobial and Antifungal
    Has antifungal properties that can inhibit fungal growth, such as in cases of mouth ulcers. 

     
  • Aromatherapy and Fragrance
    Used in aromatherapy to calm, reduce stress, and as a room freshene.  

     
  • Industrial Raw Material  
    Serves as a raw material for various products like soap, perfume, cosmetics, and antiseptics. 

For Diffuser:

  • Mix a few drops of lemongrass oil with water in a diffuser to spread the aroma in the room. 

 

As a Topical Oil:

  • Mix with a carrier oil such as olive oil or VCO (ratio 1:10 or according to skin sensitivity) before applying to the skin, but avoid open wounds.
     

As a Mouthwash:

  • Can be used as a natural mouthwash to help treat mouth ulcers by rinsing daily. 


 

Caution

  • For External Use Only: Lemongrass oil should not be ingested.
  • Warming Effect: Due to its citronella content, lemongrass oil will feel warm when applied directly to the skin.
  • Avoid Open Wounds: Do not apply lemongrass oil to open wounds as it may cause irritation.
