About Us

Perumda Pakpak Agro Lestari is a Regional-Owned Enterprise established by the Government of Pakpak Bharat Regency in 2011 and began active operations in 2013. The Pakpak Bharat Regency area is mostly highlands with temperatures ranging from 18°C to 28°C, so the majority of the population’s livelihood is in the agricultural sector.

The company’s main focus is to boost the economic growth of local farmers by establishing a business unit for trading leading agricultural commodities of Pakpak Bharat Regency, such as Gambir extract (Uncaria), essential oils extracted from citronella plants (Citronella Oil), patchouli oil extract (Patchouli Oil), benzoin, and other agricultural commodities along with their derivative products.

Our Advantages

Currently, the company’s main trading commodity is Gambir extract (Uncaria). Gambir extract is produced from the leaves and young twigs of the Gambir plant, which are boiled and then pressed to extract the leaf sap. The liquid sap of Gambir is then settled until it forms a paste; the paste is molded and then dried to reach a certain moisture content. Gambir contains various active compounds, including flavonoids (such as gambiriin), catechins, tannins, and alkaloids. These compounds provide various health benefits, such as antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.

The characteristics of the Pakpak Bharat region and its climate are very suitable for Gambir cultivation, making Pakpak Bharat Gambir often referred to as the “Golden Gambir.” With simple processing, the average catechin content in Gambir ranges from 70% to 85%, surpassing Gambir from other regions which typically have catechin levels around 40% to 60%.

The average Gambir production capacity of farmers is 40-50 tons per month.

We serve product purchases on a small scale, namely individual consumers, as well as on a large scale, namely national and international industrial companies (exporters) that require our products as raw materials for their industries.
